Aegis Security Design (ASD) was founded by Dan Keller and Jim Elder, CPP after long careers in law enforcement and security management at the University of Louisville. Although officially incorporated in 1998, Mr. Keller’s and Mr. Elder’s history of security and crime prevention consulting dates back to the 1970’s. Upon retirement from the University, they decided to pursue the consulting business full time.
Aegis Security DesignSince then, ASD – a subsidiary of the Aegis Protection Group – continues to focus on our core business of professional consulting services, including risk and vulnerability assessments, security program development, security systems design and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) consultation for corporate, higher-education and government organizations.

The staff and associates of ASD have grown to include board-certified security professionals, criminologists, environmental design specialists, licensed professional engineers, experienced system designers and computer-aided design specialists to address the security needs of the Client. ASD is an independent consulting firm with the Clients as their only interest, and has no affiliation with product manufacturers or system service providers.
Through the years, ASD has added key personnel in areas to support the mission of the organization and maintain the utmost quality and professionalism of the work we provide to our Clients. As security technology has undergone rapid advancement in the past decade, ASD has added experienced professional engineers, data networking engineers, consultants, project managers and others with diverse technical and security backgrounds to ensure our skills remain current and relevant.
